Geraldine Setterstrom Lacy, 94, of Iola, Kansas, died Sunday, May 27, 2012, at Iola Nursing Center. Geraldine was born July 26, 1917, at Elsmore, Kansas, the daughter of Wilbert and Stella (Nelson) Setterstrom. She graduated from Elsmore High School in 1936. She worked several years as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell and later in life she worked in the cafeteria at Allen County Community College. On February 21, 1943, Geraldine married Lockwood G. Lacy and they made their home in Iola. He preceded her in death September 30, 1988. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Iola, the American Legion Auxiliary in Chanute, and After Five Kansas Association for Family and Community Education. SURVIVORS: 2 Sons: William N. Lacy & wife, Donna of Yates Center, Kansas, and L.C. Lacy and wife, Mary of Iola, Kansas 1 Sister: Virginia Rose Baker of Bloomington, Illinois Grandchildren: Doug Lacy of Dallas, Texas, Justin Lacy of Atlanta, Georgia, Lisa Smith & husband, Troy and Rick Zajic & wife, Suzanne all of Iola, Kansas, Windy Szalkowski & husband, Bernie of Zionsville, Indiana, Heidi Dubois & husband, Brent of Wellsville, Kansas, and Mandy Gerstner & husband, Wade of Beloit, Kansas Great-Grandchildren: Chase & Austin Ellis, Parker & Elijah Smith, Carter Zajic, Willow & Olive Dubois, Noah & Lijah Gerstner and Carissa Szalkowski She was preceded in death by a sister, Madalyn Golden.
