I just learned of his passing. I'm sadden he is gone. I am the son of his half brother Tom Walden. My grandpa Walden and father Tom and my grandmother Georgia ray's mom are all gone now ray. I met with him in 2011 and we talked @ everything and he help me rediscover my lineage. I tried reconnecting with him a yr ago. I was too late. I was blessed with a daughter on Dec.26th 2014. I named her after my late grandmother whom I loved dearly, Ray's mom. I so much wanted Ray to know this and meet her. Her name is Georgia Rayne Walden.I hope one day Donna can see the little Georgia Walden that Ray was not able too. My heart goes out to the entire family. Me and my 2 children Logan and Georgia Walden are the last 3 Walden's left in lineage. Raymond was my connection to the family I have loved and lost. I hope to reconnect with Donna and the rest of her family.

Donna and girls: Ray was a great U.S. History teacher, coach and friend. I remember Steve Poeschel and I drove to Iola back around 1967 for words of wisdom and guidance. On the way home I had a car wrech east of Iola across the bridge. Scared Steve a little but we made it back OK. I had a lot of fun wrestling, JV baseball and JV football with Ray as a coach. I wasn't a starter on varsity but still learned a lot and really enjoyed his coaching. I remember the log cabin at Lincoln school wrestling practices. I always asked Paul Porter about Ray when Paul was at KBA meetings. We are all blessed to have known Ray. Thanks for lending him to all of us through the years. Joe Eaton El Dorado

I just learned of Coach Houser's passing. In his short time in El Dorado, he influenced many boy's lives. Several of the American Legion team members continued playing, coaching and teaching as they grew older. I tried to instill in my student athletes the same characteristics as the ones he taught me. I thank him for his positive influence and his dedication to education. RIP.

Ray was in El Dorado only three years but he made a positive impression on many teenagers, adults and the El Dorado community. As head wrestling coach, he took five wrestlers to 5A state and won second place. No EHS team as done as well since. El Dorado was proud. As head Am. Legion baseball coach he took 10 players to AAA state and won first place. No El Dorado team has done as well since. El Dorado was proud. Ray was fair, firm, fun to play for , and always respected. Coach Houser, El Dorado will miss you and, I will miss you.

Dear Donna and family, Ray coached me in sports. I remember having to rush home from football on Tuesdays so Ray could get home to watch "Combat". He supervised a paint crew consisting of Mike Kelly, John Blackmore, Gary Oaks, Mike Bishop, Jerry Williams and myself, Rod Morgan. We practiced wrestling in a log cabin that Ray kept at 80 degrees and Donna kept homemade posters on the walls. Ray was tough, fair and respected and a man I admired. He will be missed by so many but his good lessons remain in all of us.
