Obituary of Elizabeth Jesse

Elizabeth Ann "Wibby" Jesse, 58, of Humboldt, Kansas, died Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at Olathe Medical Center. Elizabeth was born April 28, 1953, in Chanute, Kansas, the daughter of George A. and Eunice Clarice (Gier) Jesse. She grew up in Humboldt and graduated from Humboldt High School in 1971. She attended Allen County Community College and received her Bachelor's Degree in education from Pittsburg State University. She has worked for the Allen County Hospital and was food service director at Anderson County Hospital and Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center before working for the school district in Chanute. She retired as food service director for the district in August 2010. She made her home in Iola from 1976 until returning to Humboldt in 1992. Her memberships include the Happy Hearts FCE and the Dietary Managers Association. She served as past president of the local, state and national chapters of the Dietary Managers Assn. and wrote bills for the Kansas legislature addressing food service directives. Elizabeth was very artistic and enjoyed painting, ceramics, calligraphy and scrapbooking. She liked to travel, attend craft fairs and auctions and study genealogy. She was very family oriented and her niece and nephew meant the world to her. VISITATION: 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:00 a.m. Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. BURIAL: Inurnment will be in Highland Cemetery in Iola, at a later date.
