Obituary of Oliver Jackson
Oliver Conrad Jackson, 88, of Elsmore, Kansas, passed away September 10, 2009, at his home.
He was born May 28, 1921 at Elsmore, Kansas, the son of Oliver Conrad Sr. and Della (Swanson) Jackson. He graduated from Elsmore High School in 1938 and from Kansas State University in 1942, where he was a member of Farmhouse Fraternity. In 1942 he joined the United States Navy and became an aviator and flight instructor.
On March 15, 1944, Conrad married Lorella Brown at Friends Home Lutheran Church, Savonburg, Kansas. She survives of the home.
Conrad was a farmer and also taught elementary and junior high science classes in Bronson, Gas City and Iola for 25 years.
He was a member of Friends Home Lutheran Church. He served as a 4-H leader for many years and in 1992 was named a Kansas Master Farmer.
Conrad was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Loretta Boman, and grandsons Kent Jackson and Ryan Jackman.

1 Brother: Clifton Jackson of Columbia, Maryland
12 Grandchildren & 12 Great Grandchildren
FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 14, 2009, at Friends Home Lutheran Church at Savonburg, Kansas. Sid Hose PMA will officiate
BURIAL: Elsmore Cemetery
MEMORIAL CHOICES: Friends Home Lutheran Church or the American Diabetes Association.
There will be no formal visitation; however, he will be in state at the funeral home on Saturday and Sunday.
Memorial gifts may be left with the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola, which is in charge of arrangements.
