So sorry to hear the news of Don; I enjoyed our time together and he was always so encouraging. We would share educator stories and his patience and love for children was admirable. Heaven gained an angel, prayers for peace to his family.

There are no words to adequately describe the positivity, love and light this man brought into my world and countless others. It's so comforting to read all the posts about how many lives Don blessed. He was such a fatherly figure to so many, yet Don would probably be the one most shocked to know how much he was loved by others. God certainly had a plan for Don from the very beginning and choosing him to be a teacher was a blessing for all who learned from him. One of the things I admired the most about Don was the tenacity he had in bringing people together. Some of my most treasured friendships are with the people I met through Don and the memories I hold from those periods of my life are so precious to me. I will miss his stories, his laugh and his theatrics! I will cherish the memories he made possible and will always recall them will a smile. I am at peace knowing how much Don love the Lord and the incredible "life" he breathed into the world of others. He was my teacher, my mentor, my guide and my friend and I thank God for blessing me with the opportunity to know this great man. I will always love you Don and may God eternally bless you for the incredible opportunities you gave others throughout your lifetime.

Don was an amazing man who was full of life, joy and ambition! I feel honored that God put him in my life. We shared a love for the Ozarks, Table Rock lake and teaching! How many people did he take to his cabin and share all that God had blessed him with?? Probably hundreds of people. I know he blessed many people with his kindness and generosity! He will be missed!

I've shared many memories on Facebook but here's another one. When my son was sick and needed a special plant we went to Dons house early in the morning. He had just woken up but was extreamly eager to help us find the right plant and borrow it ( because Don had every plant I can think of!) and for the next few weeks every time we saw him he asked how our son was doing and made sure we had enough plant to help him. That's Don. The guy who only thought of others. Isaiah and I will miss seeing him daily at ElJimador.

What an absolute joy and celebration it was for us to have Donald as a friend. We had the privilege of taking Donald with us to the Island of Patmos where Revelations was written! And what wonderful dialogue we all had outside the cave! We celebrated you on earth and celebrate you in Heaven! Love and Light Straight to Thee!

This is very sad news. The first day I remember meeting Don he was the only person who gave me a little peace after my father died. He was at my dad's funeral, and his words about my father, and who my father really was really gave me peace. I enjoyed getting to know Don, his stories go on quite a while, and they would make me smile, I would get ready to talk and he would beat me with another story. He is very unique, and so caring. I would enjoy seeing his fish, and it was nice to see his passion for plants, and making beauty all around him. He sure will be missed, I can not believe he has passed, it's a sad day,

To: Friends and Extended Family Very sorry to hear of the accident that took the life of Don on Dec 1. He was a very caring and kind man and certainly an example of someone that lived life to the fullest. He had a good life and managed to live independently and fully to the end. He will be sincerely missed by all of the Zornes family. We have known him for nearly 70 years I believe.. Good luck to all of you. David Zornes of Edmond, OK. Eldest son of Russell Zornes.

So sorry to hear of Don's passing. He was an amazing person. While I had the Iola Greenhouse for a short time, he was a favorite customer, not because he would buy something, but because he exhibited such joy and love for the flowers and plants. Don was a special human who had a love of life, knowledge and God. Bless you, my friend, you will be missed.
