Obituary of Vina Higginbotham

Vina Mae Higginbotham, 98, of Carlyle, Kansas, died Sunday, March 15, 2009, at her home. Vina was born October 27, 1910, in Gas City, Kansas, the daughter of Ralph J. and Blanche A. (Tiffany) Conwell. She graduated from Iola High School. On July 23, 1929, Vina married Con W. Higginbotham and they made their home in Carlyle. He preceded her in death on July 19, 2001. Vina enjoyed sewing and was actively involved with her children's activities as they grew up. She was a member of the Carlyle Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School for years. SURVIVORS: 1 Son: Steve Higginbotham of Bartlesville, OK 3 Daughters: Connie Grimes & husband, Bill of Grove, OK, Billie Frame of Bartlesville, OK, and Linda Guenther & husband, Mel of Carlyle, KS 1 Sister: Ruth Richards of Iola, KS 2 Sisters-In-Law: Mildred Chambers of Carlyle, KS and Reba Conwell of Bartlesville, OK 7 Grandchildren 9 Great Grandchildren 4 Great Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Traci Frame, and by one brother and four sisters. FUNERAL SERVICE: 1:30 p.m., Thursday, March 19, 2009, at the Carlyle Presbyterian Church. The Rev. David Moore will officiate.
