Freda was such a thoughtful and caring person. I remember a time we attended a meeting together and my car wouldn't start after. She insisted I borrow hers to get to work the next day! She once gave me a large box of paper samples to utilize in my card making. I bet she is letting some other angel borrow her wings right now! We were all the better for knowing her!

My memories go back to the late 50's when Freda and my mother Thelma Doran belonged to a bridge club and were very serious about winning. Our families shared many good times together and you are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Where does one start when one has so many fond memories of such a WONDERFUL lady? I was the lucky one that was chosen by the family to help care for Freda before she moved to Guest House Estates. I do not recall the year this took place but Freda would have she could always remember dates and stories that we could not. But like I said I was chosen by the family NOT by Freda, she really was not ready in her mind to have someone come in and help her at first, this soon changed. I say within a week we were "BUDS". We warmed right up to each other. I was so fond of Freda we enjoyed our drives sometime not knowing where we were off to, but you better believe Dairy Queen was one of our stops for her Chocolate Milk Shakes. I recall having Freda on "her stool" at the kitchen table always doing her hair before we hit the road. It may have been just a trip around the lake or to buy Beef Jerky, to buy nuts during the Holidays and yes lets not forget her "LIFE SAVERS" at the Dollar Store she would never let me forget those!!!
Not only did I make a great friend in Freda but her entire family as well, they are Family to me now. And I love each one of you, and I am so sorry for your loss. Your Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt, your Friend was a WONDERFUL LADY and she will be missed but never forgotten. To the entire Family I extend my Sympathy to you.
GO JAYHAWKS!!! That ones for you FREDA. Much Love. Larry

What a wonderful aunt Freda was. Growing up as a young boy in Garnett we were connected to the Bowen Family as Freda and my mother Shelday were sisters. We had connecting cousins of the same age and it seems as if we were always together! I fondly remember the 4th of July picnics and barbeques that Freda and Pete hosted at their home. The fun we always had with each other families and the way that Freda always made it all seem so special. Although she has gone on to better things she will be missed but never forgotten. Love you aunt Freda!!

I loved Freda so much. She was the best of the best, but she could be onery too. That's what we loved about her. You always knew where you stood with aunt Freda. I have so many fond memories of her. To many to list here. I remember her & my Mom spending days sanding & repainting a wrought iron bed for me as a little girl. I'll bet Freda found it at the auction or some flea market. She was good at finding a bargain. When I moved to Calif. Freda ask for the red depression dishes that my Mom had given me. Freda collected them & set the most beautiful table for the holidays. Freda, I will miss you but I am so much richer for being part of your family. I bet you'll be looking for bargains in heaven.

I met Freda over a bridge table when we first moved to Garnett. She taught me many things about the game, but never made me feel that I had made a mistake. She was the kindest person who always had time for everyone. I will miss her sweet little laugh and happy smile. My thoughts and prayers are with all the family at this difficult time.
