Obituary of George Hardwick
George William Hardwick, 82, of Iola, Kansas, died Sunday, September 2, 2012, at the Moran Manor.
George was born February 4, 1930, in Ft. Scott, Kansas, the son of Montie Leonard and Helen Elizabeth (Schmidt) Hardwick. He grew up at Ft. Scott where he graduated from high school and received his business degree from Ft. Scott Junior College.
He worked for the railroad in Kansas City, for Lindy Gas in Neosho, Missouri, and was office manager for Union Carbide in Omaha before being transferred to Houston. He returned to Kansas after he retired in 1991.
George attended St. John's Catholic Church in Iola and the Knights of Columbus before entering the nursing home.

A host of nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold, Don and John Hardwick and one sister, Louise Meyer.
Cremation has taken place.
GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at the West Plains Cemetery northwest of Ft. Scott, Kansas.
