Obituary of Marjorie George
Marjorie M. George, 95, former Neosho Falls, Kansas resident died Thursday, March 12, 2009 at the Life Care Center in Burlington, Kansas.
Marjorie was born January 27, 1914, on her parents farm near Willis, Kansas. She was the daughter of Irl N. and Audrie B. (May) Compton. The family moved to a farm east of Eureka in 1920 and then to a farm northeast of Neosho Falls in 1931. She graduated from Neosho Falls High School in 1932 and then attended Iola Junior College for a year.
On July 30, 1933, Marjorie married Russell I. George. They lived on a farm east of Colony for three years before moving to the Neosho Falls area. In 1946 they made their home on a farm three miles south of Neosho Falls where they resided for years. Russell died on December 21, 1996, and when her health failed she moved to Burlington to live.
Marjorie was a member of the Neosho Falls United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star having served as worthy matron, Social Order of the Beauceant, Happy Circle Club and the Punkin Kolig Club.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Finley E. "Dutch" Compton and Wayne Compton and by a sister, Velma Ruggles.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at the Neosho Falls United Methodist Church. The Rev. Trudy Kenyon Anderson will officiate.
BURIAL: Highland Cemetery, Iola, Kansas
