Obituary of Carol Guatney
Carol L. Guatney, 66, former Neosho Falls resident, now residing at Erie, Kansas, died Friday, April 29, 2011, at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute, Kansas.
Carol was born October 22, 1944, at Neosho Falls, Kansas, the daughter of Paul and Pearl Lena (Steele) Guatney. She attended school in Neosho Falls and when the school closed transferred to Iola where she graduated from Iola High School in 1962.
Carol worked a number of years at the sewing factory in Yates Center. She married C.J. Starnes and they made their home in Neosho Falls. They later divorced. Carol worked as a Certified Nurses Aide several years and has resided at Erie since 2005.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Chanute, Kansas. She loved to read, play piano, draw and especially enjoyed her loving pets all of her life.

She was preceded in death by two brothers Harold Guatney and Jerry Guatney, sister-in-law Margaret Guatney, brother-in-law Billy E. Ogle and niece Jerrie Lea Guatney Kirkman.
ROSARY & VISITATION: The rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2011, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m.
GRAVESIDE SERVICE: Family and friends will meet at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola, at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 3, 2011, to go in procession to Little Sandy Cemetery near Buffalo, Kansas, for graveside services. Pastor Larry Jordan will officate.
