My deepest sympathy for your recent loss. Jay Don was a very kind and wonderful person. I will always remember him for his thoughtfulness and what a positive personality he was in our high school group. Jay Don and several of us Iola High teenagers & grads spent many weekend evenings hanging out as a group many times just "around the square". He made such a positive difference in the world. I am so proud to have been his classmate. May all your positive memories of him bring you peace. -Angie Hampton

I've been trying to find the words to express my sorrow at the passing of Jay Don. He truly was a hero of a brother-in-law in my eyes. I admired him tremendously and so appreciated his love for my sister Tammi & my nephew Connor. He'll be missed in so many ways. I am utterly blessed for the years I knew him!

My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this very difficult time. My dad and Wendy coached together and Jay Don and I spent many Friday evenings hanging out at high school football stadiums all over Southeastern Kansas. Jay Don was a super great guy and will be dearly missed.

I will always remember the times we had in school, mainly at track meets, Jay Don wasn't a runner but he was always cheering on us runners to do our best. "Hawk" as some of us call Jay Don was a very sweet person, never looking down on a person because they didn't have as much as everyone else, he treated everyone as equals. Please know that Jay Don family is in my prayers. May Jesus strengthen you all over the coming days. I remember Jay Don when I used to umpire baseball games at Bassett Baseball park. I also remember how much his Dad and Mom loved him. Jay Don's Dad was my coach and friend and Wendy was a great friend of my father Wendell Bass Sr. I remember Kent and Craig and what fine young men they were and still are.
