Obituary of Virginia Foster
Virginia Foster, 84, of Lone Elm, Kansas, died Sunday, April 26, 2009, at the Allen County Hospital in Iola, Kansas.
Virginia was born July 12, 1924, on a farm south of LaHarpe, Kansas, the daughter of George B. and Pearl D. (Kennedy) Rose. She graduated from LaHarpe High School.
On August 8, 1942, Virginia married Elvin Foster and they made their home on a farm south of Lone Elm. She worked with her husband in the operation of the Foster Insurance Agency for 33 years.
She liked to crochet and made numerous afghans.
Virginia was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 167 in Moran. While a member of the Kincaid Chapter she served as worthy matron, district aide, and was a grand representative to Rhode Island. She was a member of the Tuesday Study Club and the Lone Elm South E.H.U. She was baptized in the LaHarpe Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Everett Rose and by a sister, Evelyn Pearman.
VISITATION: 5:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 29, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:30 a.m., Thursday, April 30, 2009, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. The Chaplain Lloyd W. Houk will officiate.
BURIAL: Lone Elm Cemetery
MEMORIAL CHOICES: Lone Elm Community Building or the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 167 in Moran.
