I always admired Bro. Fire from the first time I met him in the late '60's when the family came to our church in Del City, Oklahoma. When I was in Bible college in Springfield, Missouri I was a member of the church that was their home church while they were in El Salvador, which provided more opportunities to interact with this wonderful family.
His love for God and the people of El Salvador was inspiring.

The Fites were our missionaries for many years. Dating back in the early '50's when my father, Thurmon Wilson, was pastor of Bible Baptist Church in Bridgeport, Tx and then at Eastside Baptist Church in Fort Worth from '59 to '69. Upon my Father's death my husband, Jesse Wilson, became pastor and we continued to support them. We always enjoyed them and lived supporting them. Through marriage we are distantly related. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

We were saddened to hear of the homegoing of Bro. Fite. Yet we also understand that it is a joyous moment because of our "living hope". Our prayers for all in the family, for a blessed celebration service, and for dear Bro. Cayetano as he brings the message.

What a blessed joy to know that my all-time favorite missionary graduated within hours of my Daddy's home-going. What rejoicing there must have been in Heaven when each realized that the other had just arrived! We sorrow not as others who have no hope. Sending love to all....
