Obituary of Dean Flack
Russell Dean Flack, 67, of Iola, Kansas, died Saturday, April 18, 2009, at the Allen County Hospital in Iola.
Dean was born January 4, 1942, at Ft. Scott, Kansas, the son of Russell Robert and Virginia Lee (Twineham) Flack. He grew up at Moran and graduated from Moran Rural High School in 1960. He attended Washburn University for a semester before attending Iola Junior College.
On October 1, 1961, Dean married Connie L. Masengill at Moran. They made their home in Moran until moving to Iola in 1999.
He worked for his dad and granddad at Flack Oil Company in Moran until the early 1980's. He then worked for E.J. Siefker and later became a rural mail carrier.
Dean was a member of the Moran Christian Church, Masonic Lodge and the Retired Rural Mail Carriers.
He enjoyed his grandchildren and his dog, Yoda. His hobbies were woodworking, stamp collecting and scale model car collecting.

4 Grandchildren: Tom & Brette Hooker and Creighton & Reagan Wiles
1 Brother: David L. Flack & wife, Beverly of Iola, KS
He was preceded in death by his parents.
VISITATION: 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 21, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. The Rev. Bill LaPorte will officiate.
Cremation will follow the service with a private inurnment at the Moran Cemetery at a later date.
MEMORIAL CHOICES: Moran Christian Church or Wesley United Methodist Church
Memorial gifts may be left with the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola, which is in charge of arrangements.
