Nancy J. Evans, 62, of Iola, Kansas, died Monday, March 30, 2009, at her home. Nancy was born March 16, 1947 in Iola, Kansas, the daughter of Albert W. and Eva A. (Porter) Conner. She graduated from Iola High School in 1965 and then from the Mt. Carmel School of Nursing in Pittsburg. She worked as a registered nurse at a hospital in Oklahoma City before returning to Iola where she worked at Allen County Hospital. She then moved to Overland Park where she was actively involved at Legacy Christian Church with their preschool program. In 2004 she returned to Iola to make her home. Nancy was a member of the Legacy Christian Church in Overland Park, Kansas. SURVIVORS: 1 Sister: Peggy Marple & husband, Jake of Iola, KS Step-Father: John Mulkey of LaHarpe, KS 2 Nieces: Michelle Altis of Iola, KS, and Janette Hankins of Wichita, KS 3 Great Nephews & 2 Great Nieces Nancy was preceded in death by her son, James Whitney Evans. FUNERAL SERVICE: 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 3, 2009, at Legacy Christian Church located at 10150 Antioch Road in Overland Park. Pastor Ronnie Epps will officiate. VISITATION: 10:00-11:00 a.m. Friday at the church prior to the service. BURIAL: Pleasant View Cemetery at Shawnee, Kansas.
