Obituary of June Dunlap
June Marie Dunlap, 93, of Iola, Kansas, died Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at Labette Health at Parsons, Kansas.
June was born on June 22, 1916, at Ludden, North Dakota, the daughter of Ralph and Laura (Madsen) Karr. She grew up in Leavenworth County near Tonganoxie.
On March 12, 1938, June married Charlie L. Dunlap at Liberty, Missouri. In 1946, they made their home on a farm southwest of Moran, Kansas. She was a homemaker and helped on the farm. Charlie preceded her in death on January 24, 1979. She moved to Iola in 1988.
She had attended the Jedo Church east of Humboldt, Moran United Methodist Church and the Calvary United Methodist Church in Iola. She has served as a docent for the Allen County Historical Society and volunteered for the Senior Citizens and Meals-On-Wheels in Iola.
June was known for her doughnuts and enjoyed e-mailing, following the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals ball teams as well as all college sports. She had also been an enthusiastic supporter of her children's, grandchildren's and great grandchildren's sporting events.

1 Son: Mark Dunlap of Grand Marais, Minnesota who just recently moved to Iola, Kansas
2 Daughters: Wilma Krokstrom of Iola, Kansas, and Ann Shetlar & husband, Kenneth of Iola, Kansas
2 Sisters: Irene Orth of Payson, Arizona and Dorothy Drain of Iola, Kansas
10 Grandchildren & 8 Great Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by 3 sons, James, R. Milton and Jack Dunlap, and by 5 brothers, Ahman, William, Robert, Ray and Roy Karr.
VISITATION: 6:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday, October 25, 2009, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 26, 2009, at the Calvary United Methodist Church in Iola. The Rev. Jim Rausch will officiate.
BURIAL: Elsmore Cemetery, Elsmore, Kansas
MEMORIAL CHOICES: Moran United Methodist Church or Calvary United Methodist Church
