Obituary of Ernest Eggers
Ernest M. Eggers, 92, of Humboldt, Kansas, died Sunday, August 16, 2009, at Pinecrest Nursing Home in Humboldt.
Ernest was born November 8, 1916, at Blackwell, Oklahoma, the son of Henry Louis and Alice M. (Sewell) Eggers. He grew up in Oklahoma and graduated from Blackwell High School in 1934. He served in the United States Army during World War II.
On February 25, 1945, Ernest married Katie Mae Bowling in Jefferson, Oklahoma. The Ernest Eggers first established their home on a farm near Braman, Oklahoma. In 1951 they moved to a farm north of Parsons. Then in 1958 to the Eggers home in Woodson County west of Humboldt. She preceded him in death on January 3, 1973.
On March 17, 1974, Ernest married Eula (Gray) Adams at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Humboldt. They made their home on the farm until 1976 then moved south of Yates Center. In 1996 they moved to Humboldt, Kansas.
He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Humboldt. Ernest enjoyed helping his son, Henry, on the farm, camping and traveling.

9 Grandchildren & 4 Great Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Herder and another child in infancy and by a brother, Louis Eggers and sisters, Gladys Quade and Alice Stewart.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 20, 2009, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Humboldt. The Rev. David E. Meier will officiate.
BURIAL: Mount Hope Cemetery in Humboldt, Kansas
MEMORIAL: St. Peter's Lutheran Church
