I always enjoyed my visits with Bob. He usually had a story to tell me when I'd see him in Colony at morning coffee. My favorite stories were the ones he told about my grandparents when they lived at Harris,KS.
I lasted visited with Bob a year ago after the birth of my son; He assured me that going through life with only one hand would not slow him down, but make him more determined. He was right!
I am glad to have know Bob, he will be missed.
May the comfort of friends & family be your strengh now & in the days ahead.

Joan, David and Rodney your husband and dad were especially dear to me. When I think of his life a flood of positive memories come to me. His love of ice cream and the speed with which he could eat it without any apparent affect due to it being so cold coming straight from the freezer made my head hurt. I can recall many times when he would grab me with his thumb, which was like a vice, and playfully hold onto me. He was always cheerful, willing to help or loan anything to me without any expectation of something in return. He had a love to travel, be it near or far. Just this past year while combining corn I recall him driving his gator down the road, stopping to pick up litter and waving as he turned and headed back home. My parents told of how he walked across the bridge at the Royal Gorge, never once showing any sign of fear but laughing with glee when others showed signs of being squeamish. Lastly I recall his coming to church love for God, the most important aspect of life anyone can have. I am reminded of the scripture in Matthew 25:31-46 which will portray his legacy.
Well done, "Bob" Robert!

I will miss my "Uncle" Bob. I cherish the time we spent together - dancing with my feet on top of his shoes, visiting the cows (as he honked the horn of his truck to call the cows over he warmly laughed at this girl from So. Calif.), and celebrating all those birthdays of my grandpa Will. I've told countless friends through the years about him because I always considered him so special. The world needs more good, caring, and kind men like Uncle Bob. I miss you, Uncle Bob...but you will always be a part of me.

My prayers are with you and the boys. It's tough to lose a loved one at any time but especially at this time of the year. We lost Mom close to Thansgiving several years ago and it just didn't seem like Christmas that year.
Love to you and your family.
