Obituary of James Cole

James Lee "Jim" Cole, 50, of LaHarpe, Kansas, died Monday, April 19, 2010, at his home. Jim was born July 24, 1959, at Eureka, Kansas, the son of Edwin Lee and Annette (Sanderson) Cole. He grew up in Gas, Kansas where he attended elementary school. The family moved to LaHarpe when he was a teenager. On December 20, 1997, Jim married Linda R. Robb in the United Methodist Church in LaHarpe. They made their home in LaHarpe. Jim worked as a heavy equipment operator and was currently working for Nelson Quarries and for his father at Cole's Trash Service out of LaHarpe. Jim was an artist and enjoyed playing the guitar, fishing and caring for his dog, "Stinky". SURVIVORS: His wife: Linda R. Cole of the home 1 Daughter: Shelby Cardona & her husband, Noeli of Topeka, Kansas 1 Granddaughter: Doraysi Cardona His Parents: Edwin and Annette Cole of LaHarpe, KS His Grandmother: Catherine Sanderson of Humboldt, KS 3 Sisters: Charlotte Wright & husband, Kenny of Iola, KS, Shelly Sinclair & husband, Floyd of LaHarpe, KS and Bobbie Nunnery & husband, Paul of LaHarpe, KS 9 nieces and nephews and 8 great nieces and great nephews His In-Laws: Harry and Mary Robb of LaHarpe, KS 2 Brothers-In-Law: Gordon Robb & wife, Yvette of Gas, KS and Robert Robb of LaHarpe, KS 2 Sisters-In-Law: Carrie Riebel & husband, Randy of Iola, KS and Becky Hedman & husband, Mike of LaHarpe, KS 11 nieces and nephews and 10 great nieces and great nephews on the Robb side of the family. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lester and Pearl Cole, grandfather, Lawrence Sanderson and aunt, Marilyn Sanderson. VISITATION: 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 22, 2010, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 23, 2010, at the LaHarpe Cemetery. Family and friends will gather at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola for a short time of visitation at 10:00 a.m. Friday before leaving for the cemetery. The Rev. Murl McKibben will officiate. MEMORIAL: The James L. Cole Memorial Fund Memorial gifts may be left with the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel of Iola, which is in charge of arrangemets.
