Robert L. "Bob" Colborn, age 86, of LaHarpe, Kansas, died Friday, November 18, 2011, at the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. Bob was born July 26, 1925, on a farm north of Kiowa, Kansas, the son of Frank and Grace (VanHuss) Colborn. He graduated from Medicine Lodge High School and served in the United States Navy during World War II. Bob married Norma Duncan and they lived in the Thayer area before divorcing. He and Mary Eckert were married and made their home in Erie until retiring and moving to Wellington. She preceded him in death in 1999. Bob has made his home in LaHarpe for the past 10 years. Bob worked as a farm hand for several farmers over the years and then worked 17 years for Blair Trailer Company before retiring. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Iola, Kansas. SURVIVORS: 2 Sons: Robert "Bob" Colborn of LaHarpe, KS and Roger Colborn of Weir, KS 1 Daughter: Annette "Toni" Stagg of Gardner, KS 3 Brothers: Jack Colborn of Chanute, KS, Kenneth Colborn and Donald Colborn both of Salina, KS 8 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren He was preceded in death by an infant sister and 4 brothers, Harold, Jerry, Lester and Russell Colborn. VISITATION: 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, Nov. 21, 2011, at Grace Lutheran Church in Iola.
