Obituary of Dwight Clum
Dwight R. Clum, 73, formerly of Hiawatha, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at Maple Wood Alzheimer Special Care Center in Springfield, Missouri.
Dwight was born April 15, 1941, in Chanute, Kansas, the son of Walter D. and Velda Luella (Negley) Clum. He grew up in Humboldt and graduated from Humboldt High School in 1959. He received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Pittsburg State University.
On June 6, 1965, Dwight married Jo Ann Coltrane, his high school sweetheart, in Humboldt. They made their home in Chanute where he taught at Hutton Elementary and then served as principal at Lincoln Elementary. In 1971, they moved to Hiawatha where Dwight served as principal of Hiawatha Elementary until he retired in 1996. They moved to Springfield in 2010.
Dwight enjoyed golfing, gardening, boating and camping. He had been active in the Hiawatha Lion's Club, Kansas Association of Elementary School Principals, and Kansas Association of Retired School Personnel.

2 Brothers: Arnold Clum & wife, Sonja of Arvada, CO and Duane Clum & wife, Charlotte of Chanute, KS
9 Grandchildren: Davis, Austin & Devin Clum, Taylor & Cameron Pope and Kaitlyn Stockdale all of Lenexa, and Hayden, Wyatt & Natalie Clum of Springfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Lyle Clum.
VISITATION: 6:30-8:30 p.m., Friday, July 18, 2014, at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 1:30 p.m., Saturday, July 19, 2014, at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola.
BURIAL: LaHarpe Cemetery, LaHarpe, KS
