Obituary of Betty Camac

Betty M. Camac, 79, of Bronson, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at the Moran Manor. Betty was born October 16, 1933, at Neosho Falls, Kansas, the daughter of Robert "Bert" and Gladys (Anderson) Covault. She grew up in Neosho Falls, was baptized on July 24, 1942, and graduated from Iola High School. Betty met her husband, John F. "Bud" Camac, at the Moran dances. After a short courtship, she and Bud married at the Methodist parsonage in Iola on April 30, 1955. They made their home in Bronson a short time before moving to the farm. She earned a teaching certificate and taught at Geneva and Xenia in one-room schools. She later taught as a substitute teacher while raising her family. She and Bud farmed and actively followed their childrens activities and school events. They also worked as crop adjusters for several years and traveled all over the state to take care of claims. Bud preceded her in death July 17, 1998. Betty was a 50 plus year member of the Eastern Star, OES Culture Club, Help The Neighbors Club and the Bronson United Methodist Church. Betty loved playing cards and did so with her friends on a weekly basis. She also loved to work crossword puzzles. SURVIVORS: Her 3 Children and Their Spouses: Joe & Carol Camac of Augusta, KS, Elaine & Scott Stewart of Iola, KS and Mike & Jeanne Camac of Bronson, KS 8 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren 1 Sister & Her Husband: Barbara & William Nelson of Iola, KS She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
