Pop 'O' Pete was one of the most ornery but kind hearted person I've ever meet. Maxine and Pete were my bus drivers for years and years and loved every minute with all the kids on the bus. I remember when our bus slid off the road because of the mud right south of the landfield I was around 6 yrs old and when the other bus showed up to pick all of us up Pete carried Flint Macklin in one arm and me in the other to the bus. I remember him saying " Young lady you can't get that pretty dress and pretty shoes all muddy." I will miss him dearly and his sneaky kisses. My htoughts and prayers are with you. Maxine, Pop O Pete is on his way home.

Oh what a wonderful person. I can still hear him saying "How ya doin' kiddo?" My heart goes out to his family at this time, but one thing is for certain...he is in a much better place and his happiness he showed here on earth pales when it comes to the happiness he is having now. Rest in peace, dear friend. You are certainly missed.

Mark, Janet, Yvonne, Angie, Jon and your Families... Pete was one of the greatest guys I have ever known. Garnett and the Farming community has lost a true icon of our era. I have known Pete for a great number of years and he has always been the same no matter where you saw him... I loved going into the gas station and giving him so much crap over the years! And he was pretty good at givin it back! One of the things I love most about Pete was that he always loved and cared for his family.. He made me feel like I was just another one of his bunch! He always offered help to neighbors and friends.. I admired that Pete was a great farmer and stockman.. He knew how to make that land work for him... It made me smile when I walked in for his service an saw all those people there! All different kinds of people... That was Pete.. I will miss him so much... Thinking of all of you at this time of sorrow... God will watch over him and all of you.. And yes Pete, I will still keep an eye on Jon for you! :) Love you all...

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time. "Uncle Pete" was well known in our family. The first time we visited KS and went to the house, he spent time with our kids, showing them the farm. He paid attention to what they had to say and showed them all he could. He was an interesting person, we'll keep him and you in our prayers. Bob and Virginia Lucero-from Colorado

We remember when Nathan got his pickup stuck in the mud. We asked him how he thought he was going to get it out. He said he was going to find Pete. So he went to the coffee shop and found Pete who went straight out, hooked on with his big old powerhouse truck, and pulled him right out like it was all in a day's work. He was so good to Nathan and Nathan loved him. They've probably had a good talk by now. May angels surround you at this time. God bless.

Thanks for the good times. There would not be a better Brother-in-law in the world than Pete Gordon. So many times we would go to visit when our children were little and come home with sacks of food from the Gordons freezer.
