Obituary of Doris Bishop
Doris J. Bishop, 86, of Iola, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Allen County Regional Hospital.
Doris was born November 14, 1928, in Neosho Falls, Kansas, the daughter of George and Susan (Henry) Stephens. She grew up in the Neosho Falls and Yates Center areas. She graduated from Yates Center High School in 1946 and on May 15, 1946, she married Chester "Chet" Bishop in Iola. They made their home in Idaho until 1950 when they moved back to Kansas. She worked at King's Sandwich Shop and retired from the food service department of U.S.D. 257. Chet preceded her in death January 15, 2015.
Doris was a member of Iola Baptist Temple. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, traveling and being with her grandchildren.

Her 3 Children: Stephen Bishop & wife, Rita of Independence, KS, Susie Call & husband, Terry of Iola, and Judy Slife of Iola.
1 Brother: Kelly Stephens of Platte City, MO
6 Grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son-in-law Kenny Slife, and 5 siblings, Carl Stephens, Alice Lomon, Donna Hendryx, Georgia Stewart, and Glee Edgington.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015, at Iola Baptist Temple
BURIAL: Yates Center Cemetery, Yates Center, KS
