Obituary of Harry Beal
Raymond Harry Beal, age 79, of Iola, Kansas, died Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at the Allen County Hospital in Iola, Kansas.
Harry was born April 21, 1930, the son of Sam and Pearl Beal at rural Yates Center, Kansas. His father was sheriff of Woodson county for a number of years. He grew up on the farm near Yates Center.
He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. Following his honorable discharge from the service, he moved back to this area but traveled with construction jobs.
On December 21, 1985, Harry married Joyce (Bennett) Nichols in Iola. They made their home here and he worked at Midland Brake for 16 years before he retired.
He enjoyed yardwork and flower gardening.

10 Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by a step-son, Mike Nichols and by a sister, Mary.
Family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 3, 2009, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola for a brief time of visitation before leaving for Highland Cemetery in Iola for graveside services at 10:30 a.m. The Chaplain Lloyd W. Houk will officiate.
Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola, is in charge of arrangements.
