Obituary of Delia Barnes
Delia N. "Della" Barnes, 67, of Iola, Kansas, died Thursday, March 12, 2009, at the Hospice Unit at Via Christi St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.
She was born February 2, 1942, at Iola, Kansas, the daughter of E.B. "Shorty" and Laura M. (Yocham) Trester. She grew up in Iola where she graduated from Iola High School and Iola Junior College.
On July 3, 1965, Delia married Donald W. Barnes at Gas, Kansas. They made their home in Iola where she has worked at Iola Deluxe Cleaners and for H.L. Miller & Son Dress Factory. She was also a homemaker who loved her grandsons, geneology, crocheting and doing needlework and she loved to read "The Cat Who.." series of books by Lilian Jackson Braun.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxiliary of Iola.

Sister-in-law: Joyce Dye of LaHarpe, KS
She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Albert and Louie Trester.
GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 16, 2009, at Highland Cemetery in Iola. Rev. Steve Traw will officiate.
VISITATION: 10:00 a.m., Monday, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola, before leaving for the graveside service.
MEMORIAL: Allen County Animal Rescue Foundation (ACARF)
