Obituary of Richard Andres
Richard Lee Andres, 65, of Iola, Kansas, passed away Monday, November 12, 2012, at Lebo, Kansas.
Richard was born February 4, 1947, at rural Max, Nebraska, the son of Lyle Dean and Virginia Louise (Stokes) Andres. He grew up in the LaHarpe area and graduated from LaHarpe High School in 1965. In June of 1966, Richard began serving in the United States Navy as a Seabee in Vietnam.
On February 10, 1968, Richard married Marilyn Ansell at LaHarpe, Kansas. They made their home in Erie for six years before returning to Allen County where they have resided since then. Richard has worked for Nelson Quarries for 18 years and as a Bingo caller for 32 years.
He was a member of the LaHarpe Christian Church, a lifetime member of the Iola American Legion where he was a financial officer for 14 years, the LaHarpe V.F.W. where he was quartermaster for 25 years and 40 et 8.

2 Sisters: Phyllis McCullough & husband, Cloude of Elk City, KS and Joyce Foster & husband, Mike of Coffeyville, KS
11 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandsons
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother Connie Andres and his in-laws, Howard and Lillian Ansell.
VISITATION: 6:00-9:00 p.m., Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 3:00 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at LaHarpe City Hall (formerly the LaHarpe school).
BURIAL: LaHarpe Cemetery, LaHarpe, KS
