Obituary of Alexander Almasi
Alexander Michael Almasi, 61, of LaHarpe, Kansas, died Saturday, October 31, 2009, at his home.
He was born March 7, 1948, at Rosenheim, Germany, the son of Michael H. and Larissa Almasi. He grew up in the United States and graduated from high school in Fairbanks, Alaska in 1966. He later resided in Wichita, Kansas.
His 26 year military career began in 1967 when he served with the United States Army 2nd Battalion 34th Armor Division in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968. He later transferred to the Kansas Army National Guard 891st where he retired as Sergeant (E5).
On November 22, 1971, Alexander married Marilyn Jean Munsen in Iola where they made their home until moving to LaHarpe in 1977. She died December 21, 1981.
On May 5, 1990, he married Diana S. Williams at Redfield, Kansas. They made their home in LaHarpe.
He enjoyed following the Kansas City Chiefs and college sports and playing cards and video games.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Marilyn.
VISITATION: 6:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola.
GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at Highland Cemetery in Iola, with military honors. The Chaplain Lloyd W. Houk will officiate.
MEMORIAL: Allen County Animal Rescue Foundation (ACARF)
