Obituary of John Walker
John A. Walker, age 77, of Savonburg, Kansas, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2016, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Scott, Kansas.
He was born October 29, 1938, in Bentonville, Arkansas, the son of Clyde Anderson Walker and Alma Berta (Blow) Walker.
John married Pat Moon and this union was blessed two children, they later divorced. He married Linda McReynolds, this union was blessed with one son. They later divorced. He then married Marilyn Joyce Steward on January 7, 1984 in Erie, Kansas.
He worked construction for many years, mainly bridges and dams. John owned and operated a semi hauling hay, hogs and cattle. He worked road construction for Mike Fox, traveling throughout Missouri, Kansas, and Oklahoma. John also worked for Pat Smith out of Stark, Kansas hauling livestock.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Alma Walker; son, John Alvin Walker Jr.; and one brother, Lee Edward Walker.
John is survived by his wife, Joyce Walker of the home; children, J.A. Walker of Gypsum, Kansas; Carrie Foote of Spokane, Washington; Marilyn Bruce of Independence, Missouri; Brenda Haas and husband Robert of St. Joseph, Missouri; Richard Bruce and wife Kathy of Pittsburg, Kansas; William Rex Bruce of St. Joseph, Missouri; Debra Graves of Spokane, Washington; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Moran, Kansas, with burial following in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Savonburg, Kansas. Family will greet friends on Monday evening at the funeral home in Moran from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
