Betty F. Smith, age 81, of Garnett, Kansas, died on Monday, February 18, 2008, at Fredonia Regional Hospital in Fredonia, Kansas. She was born on July 6, 1926, in Bush City, Kansas, the daughter of Carl W. Smith and Dona (Stanley) Smith. Betty cared for children in her home. She enjoyed watching NASCAR and was a Jeff Gordon fan. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Eldon Smith; four sisters, Halle Marsh, Charlene Smith, Helma Huffman, and Gladys Smith. Betty is survived by her daughter, Jody Smith of San Diego, California; her grandson Robert Jamison, Jr. and wife Jodi of Princeton, Kansas; her granddaughter Courtney Smith and Kenny Bonecutter of Ottawa, Kansas; nephew Wayne Huffman of Thayer, Kansas; son-in-law, Robert Jamison Sr., and wife Diana, of Ottawa, Kansas; and four great grandchildren, Josh and Chase Jamison and Abigale and Jacob Bonecutter. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 22, 2008, at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service in Garnett, Kansas. Family will be present to greet friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Research and left in care of the funeral home.
