I was saddened to hear of Barb leaving this world. Bonnie's comment about Virgina & Barb meeting again is joyous. No more tears or suffering for Barb in heaven. The PP or practically perfect saying Virgina always said I first remember when she worked at Pennys. I have fond memories of Virginia & her. Barb & I were best friends for a period of high school but I always considered her my friend. Only thing is when I found out I wished I had visited Barb lately. It's been awhile. Her px above is so her. She had the neatest laugh and good humor. I was so happy when she married Tom and heard he took such good care of her. I loved Barb.

Tom,
Prayers are lifted up for you during this difficult time. One of the memories I have of her is when her mom worked at the Garnett J.C. Penny's store. Barbara would sketch pictures of clothing and they would be displayed on the colums at the store. She was quite talented. She was lucky to have you in her life. You took such good care of Barbara. I once read that "A life that touches others, lives on forever in memories"....and she will.

I also thought what a wonderful reunion Virginia and Barbara have experienced. Tom, thoughts and prayers are with you. Barb was the definition of strength and resilience. I will miss her. I took the cow off the shelf in my office and put it on my desk so I could remember them both.

Eileen posted a condolence
Tom, Susan & Family, my love and sympathy goes out to all of you. Barbara and I first met when she trained me at the Dairy Queen, we had an instant connection, which has lasted for over forty years. I loved Barbara's quirky sense of humor, we laughed at the silliest things. During that time Barbara became a favorite at the Steele house and was treated like one of the family. I remember how privileged I felt when she asked me to be her Godmother (I was an underclassmen). Our friendship has stayed strong through the years. She has been my "go to" person for many years. She knew everything about everything...what was the best buy, what to plant and where. I don't know how she knew it all but she did. Barbara is the most courageous person I have ever known, she never complained, and even at the end she was far more concerned about everyone else than she was about herself. We take so much for granted, but Barbie appreciated each day and reminded me of the important things, like "the orioles are here". I will miss her so much, and am so thankful her friendship. She will always be an inspiration to me. And I will still laugh when I think about our funny stories. Thank you so much for sharing your spouse and sister with me. Sincerely, Eileen
