I first became acquainted with Bill through his sister, Patsy, while in high school.
I recall Bill as serving in the Army in Europe and being a BAR man on his squad. He was a fine person and a man I admired even though I had seen him only once in recent years. My deepest sympathy is extended to his family.

Kay,
Sorry to hear of Bill's passing. The coffee drinkers always enjoyed Bill stopping by Sherwood to visit. The last time I saw him was in Auburn Pharmacy one day. Did not know he was at North Point. Bob

Betty Hyatt-Pierson posted a condolence
We were sorry to hear the news. We always wondered what happened to Herb and Jessies' kids. My Dad, "Slim", worked for Mack C.Colt Inc., for 34 years. We lived at the KB in the little lease house that had been moved down from Selma. Mom and Dad moved to Gas City in 1986 and Dad retired in 1987. He passed away in March 2007. A lot of good memories of Big Sandy from Dads' trips out there. Occasionally we went out on weekends, I especially remember going to see the leaves almost every year.
You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Betty Hyatt-Pierson, Emporia
Grace Hyatt, Gas City.

Kay: I am so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. I still had not gotten over to see, which makes me feel really sad. He was a nice, good man and I only have the utmost respect for him. Even when he felt really bad, he always had a smile that made you think he knew a secret. Take care Kay

Kay:It was hard to beat a fine person, friend, relative and all around gardener like Cuz. I am so glad you and he got to totally let each other know just how much you both loved the other one. Some do not get that chance. Even though you think they know it is just nice to know they know. I'm not sure if we will be able to be at visitation or not. Even if we don't make it just know you are in our thoughts and Prayers. Mickey

HI Kay, Seems like not to long ago, which now has been 35 years +, that your Dad came to my house in K.C. to see if he could rent a room. We worked out a deal which for one thing I was not going to cook for him because there was just Mickey & I and we did our own things. Well, needless to say, when there is a man in the house, it seems it is only right that we cook for them. I cannot really remember how long he lived there but it was until after he started driving the "over the road" truck. I do know he was there during the summer because he helped mow the yard some. One Thanksgiving night we were sitting around both waiting for the other to go out and ended up just sitting and visiting the whole evening. Learned more about each other than we had either one known before and is probably a good thing that I can't remember all of it now. He was a dandy and lots of fun. I will think of him often and will always be here for you if you let me know. Love you, "Cuz"
