Obituary of Evelyn Faye Jones

Evelyn Faye (Yokum) Jones, age 66, of Chanute, Kansas passed away Wednesday, July 5 at her home in Chanute. She was born August 23, 1950 in Gas, Kansas to Robert Neal and Dorothy Magdalene (Riebel) Yokum. She graduated from Humboldt High School. She married Jimmie Lee Jones in Erie, Kansas on July 11, 1976. He preceded her in death in 2014. She worked as a seamstress for several garment manufacturing companies. Evelyn is survived by four sons; Dennis Jones and wife, Rosa, of Iola, Kansas, Tracey Jones of Chanute, Mark Scott and wife, Wanda, of LaHarpe, Kansas, and Jacob Jones and wife, Kimberly, of rural Savonburg, Kansas; five daughters; Deborah Gallagher of Chanute, Tana Lowe of Iola, Terry Stipp and husband, Jerry, of Thayer, Kansas, Nancy Craft of Iola, and Mahaley Jones of Chanute; twenty-five grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, sisters Nancy Manly and husband, George, of Chanute, and Linda Cravens of Chanute, a brother, Robert "Gary" Yokum of Humboldt, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and by four siblings; Lester, Phyllis, Joyce, and Brian. Her services include visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, July 10, 2017 at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service in Iola. The parish rosary will be recited at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 11 at St. John's Catholic Church in Iola. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30. Burial will then take place in St. Joseph Cemetery at Humboldt. Contributions in her memory are suggested to St. John's Catholic Church.
