Kyle, Kara & families, Our hearts go out to you during this time of sorrow and sadness. You already know how caring your father was in the way he lived his life. He cared for everyone, not because he had to, but because it was the right thing to do. When I would see your parents at the grocery store, I would just gaze at them, noticing the love in how they communicated, he would bend down and she would tell him what she needed, and he would get it with a smile. They left some big shoes to be filled. Your parents raised you to be independent strong adults, so that you could get through any situation that would arise. I guess this is the ultimate situation. Hugs, thoughts and blessings to you and yours.

We are deeply sorry to hear of Rick’s and Peggy's death. We were unaware of Peggy's death as we live away from our farm much of the time. Sharon and I have know Rick and Peggy for many years and had a deep respect for both. I was Peggy's adviser when she did her student teaching and Peggy was Sharon's adviser when Sharon did her student teaching. Rick did all my plumbing for many years. I could always count on Rick for high quality work. Rick and Peggy will be missed.

So sorry to hear of the loss of your father. He sure was an amazing man! He was a great role model. His work ethic was second to none. A Garnett pillar. A legend. An outstanding husband and father who will be sorely missed. His faith in God and his devotion to his family was very evident. Very touching moment the Sunday after Peggy passed, and there was Rick handing out communion. Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and may your perpetual light shine upon him. Very comforting to know that he is once again reunited with Peggy. Always enjoyed stopping by Rick and Peggys on Halloween...they loved seeing the kids in their costumes.

I am so sorry for your loss. He was always such a caring and amazing man. It is such a loss for the community-- I always heard his truck go past the house on so many late and extremely cold nights. I knew he was on his way to help someone with no heat--always ready to help!

To all of his family we want to extend our sincerest sympathy. Rick was truly a kind caring person. As the obituary said he was all of those things. His love for the family was very deep. He helped us on more than one occasion over years with heating or plumbing issues. When we had the house built he was the go to man to get our septic, electrical and plumbing all taken care of. About 10 days ago St. Rose had a benefit auction. My brother Rick had an extra ticket his fiancée was sick and Mike and Helen suggested to my brother Rick that your Dad to come join us at the table. He was a Eucharistic Minister that evening and came to join us. He had not been anywhere for so long since he cared for your Mom. I think he enjoyed himself we all had a nice visit but he stayed to eat and then he decided to make it an early evening. He was so lost without your Mom at his side. Our prayers for your loss but he has received the best reward. Life in heaven again with your Mom.
