What a beautiful tribute to a beautiful lady! She will live on in many hearts. My thoughts are with you at this sorrowful time as you mourn her passing. She was a remarkable lady who handled her illness with grace and dignity. I can only imagine the great homecoming celebration going on in heaven right now as she is united with her Lord and Savior. The first time I met Opal, she came up to me and gave me the biggest hug. So did Clarence. I was overwhelmed with their acceptance and warmth. Opal was a dear friend from that day forward. It strengthens me to know that her pain and suffering are over. She has run her race and earned the prize of eternal life. She now resides in pure light and love with God. We will see you again Opal. I will be looking for you then. I love you.

My condolences to Terry and June today upon the death of Opal. Since she was my Aunt, I guess I have known her all my life. She was always so interested in everything and had many hobbies. It was great to go to her house because she knew so many stories about our family and things she had done. She was always there to lend a helping hand. I remember this one incident when my little brother Charlies appendix burst and she drove him to Chanute taking the curves at 80 mph with my Mom. They saved his life. That is the way she always faced challenges with both feet planted firmly. I do remember that drawing Nellie Compton did for her. It was very good. Motherhood was her most proud accomplishment. I seem to have developed a virus and do not know if I will be able to attend services with my chronic illness but I am going to try. She was the last female patriarch of our husband but I choose to remember her triumphs. She was a truly amazing person and hope that I was lucky enough to inherit at least one of ther attributes; .

Our family's prayers and sympathy are with your family. Opal has always been such a friendly and happy friend to me and to the Compton family. We appreciate her so much.
