Obituary of Carl "Dick" Miller

Carl R. "Dick" Miller, age 82, of Garnett, Kansas passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2017, Residential Living Center, Garnett. He was born March 22, 1934, at Garnett, Kansas, the son of Walter and Anne (Foltz) Miller. Dick graduated from Garnett High School with the Class of 1953. He joined the United States Navy serving the years from 1954 through 1958. Dick married Judy A. Stevenson on February 7, 1961 at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Garnett. This union was blessed with four sons. He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church and American Legion Thompson-Fuller Post #48, both of Garnett. Dick enjoyed gardening and watching the local ball games. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Steven Galen Miller; wife, Judy Miller in August 2016; and one sister, Clarann O'Malley. Dick is survived by his sons, Floyd Glen Miller of Garnett, Kansas; Carl Eugene Miller of Iola, Kansas; Gary Richard Miller of Garnett, Kansas; three grandchildren, Tony Miller of Garnett, Kansas, Jessica Reed and husband Jim of Waukomis, Oklahoma, and Amy Miller of Garnett, Kansas; two great grandchildren, Kyra Reed and Wyatt Reed; one sister, Frieda Peters of Richmond, Kansas; and one brother, Leon "Bud" Miller of Drummond, Oklahoma. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, January 20, 2017, at Holy Angels Catholic Church, burial in Holy Angels Cemetery. Family will greet friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Feuerborn Family Funeral Chapel, Garnett. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Angels Catholic Church.
