Obituary of Juanita Helen Farrar
Juanita Farrar, age 85, of Cleburne, Texas, formerly of Garnett, passed away on Thursday, May 20, 2010, in Cleburne, Texas.
Juanita was born on September 15, 1924 at Greeley, Kansas, the daughter of Jesse and Maude (Spencer) Cunningham. She grew up in the area, attending school in Greeley, Kansas.
She was united in marriage to Hubert Farrar on March 18, 1946, at Fort Scott, Kansas. This union was blessed with three children.
Juanita worked for 30 years as a seamstress for Warner Manufacturing in Garnett. At one time, she was employed at Pratt and Whitney in Kansas City, building parts for airplanes and was a telephone operator in Greeley, Kansas. She loved to watch the Kansas City Royals.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hubert Farrar in 1996; her son, Dennis Farrar in 1983; one sister, Beatrice Whetstone; one brother, Richard Cunningham; and one half brother, Merle Cunningham.
Juanita is survived by her son, Gary Farrar 0f Sterling, Colorado; daughter Debbie Hirt and husband Alan of Cleburne, Texas; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews, and special thank you to niece Margie Brown who helped care for her while she was living in Garnett.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Garnett, Kansas. Burial will follow in the Garnett Cemetery. Family will be present from 6:00 P.M. TO 8:00 P.M., on Monday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Juanita Farrar Memorial Fund.
