Russell was more than my Uncle, he was a friend. Always a great golfer he once took the time to play a round with me and try to teach me to be a better golfer. The gap in our skills were immense, yet he took the time and was very patient. How great. I'll never forget that.

When I married John I married into a much bigger family than I was used to being around. Russell introduced himself to me at the wedding reception. I remember him commenting that I probably would not remember him after all the people I had met that night. It turned out that his was one of the few faces and names I remembered. He was a wonderful man. He had great stories to tell, and he was a joy to be around. We will miss him. Our prayers are with his family. Wendy, John and kids

Russell was always "Mr. Oneil" to me. I remember him being friendly and kind but not a man of a lot of words. Boy could he drive a car fast!! Thinking of you all!

Uncle Russell always made me feel welcome and made a point of talking with me at our get togethers. I will truly miss seeing him each year at the family reunion. He always had some funny story or something that happened. I love you guys and my prayers are with you. Will see you Saturday.

Peggy, Steve, Randy & Family,
My condolences to all of you during this time of grief at your loss of Russ. He and I worked together for a number of years in Dallas and had some great times together. Joanne & I were also good social friends as well, with both him and Eileen and spent many happy hours together. He was a story teller extraordinaire whether it was golf stories, something about business or just a thought popped into his head. And most of the time it was good for a laugh. Russ will be missed by all of us who knew him. All of you are in my prayers. Just remember the great times and fun you had with him.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Mr. O'neil, but I have the pleasure of knowing his daughter, Peggy. She and her two daughters are evidence of the quality person Mr. O'neil must have been. My heart goes out to the O'neil family and particularly to Peggy, as I know the loss she is feeling. But, can you imagine what the golf courses in heaven must be like.

I only had the honor to know Mr. O'Neil for a few short weeks, but it was great to get to know such a kind, wonderful man who really lived and loved life! I thoroughly enjoyed his video tribute...looking back at his life and putting faces in his stories! (I heard so many stories...an easy way to make therapy more bearable). My thoughts and prayers to the entire O'Neil family.

Mr. O'Neil:
45 years ago you were one of the 'dad mentors' to those of us fortunate enough to have called the men of your generation.....'dad'. Like my own dad, you were a guiding influence for the pack of ruffians who hung around your home and were friends of Steve's. God Bless you for your guidance and mentorship; we became whom we are today, in no small measure, by the tutolage you provided us. Thank you! Save us a table close to you guys up there......Pascual (Paco) Goicoechea
