I was a year behind Jerry in school, but we still did some running around together through high school. I remember some fun times in his blue & white 56 Chevy and some trips back and forth from Ulysses to Johnson when we were both dating some Johnson KS girls. I lost track of Jerry when he left for the service after HS and we didn't see each other much after that. I left Ulysses a year later when I got out of High School and never lived there again after that. I ran in to him a few times over the years after that when I would be back to Ulysses for a visit, but we had limitied contact after High School. I was saddened to hear about his passing this evening from my Mother when we talked on the phone. Jerry was way too young to be taken from us and I never understand when someone so young is called to Heaven. Jerry, I will pray for you tonight and I hope some day we can sit together on those "golden hills" and talk about the "old days"! We had some good times together and I have never forgotten your friendship.RIP my friend.
