Donna Faye Rhudy-Hawn, 74, left her earthly home to join her Father in heaven, Sunday, July 4, 2010. Donna was born July 20, 1935, at Girard, Kansas to Carl and Mable VanDyke-Rhudy. Donna was one of seven children She grew up at Girard. In 1951, Donna married David L. Hawn of Pittsburg, Kansas. They later had two children, David and Kathleen. They followed his career with the United States Army. They made their home at Merriville, Indiana for 16 years before moving to Iola 33 years ago. Donna was a member of The Daughters of the American Revolution, The Mayflower Society, was certified in Indiana Research and a licensed Interior Decorator. Donna enjoyed researching genealogy, spending time with her family, and praying for those who were going through difficult times in their lives. SURVIVORS: Husband: David L. Hawn of the home 1 Son: David Lee Hawn, II and his wife, Janet Lee of Crown Point, Indiana 1 Daughter: Kathleen Maple and her husband, Randy Lee of Iola, Kansas 2 Brothers: Emery Rhudy of Washington, D.C., and Dr. Thomas Richard Rhudy of Rockwall, Texas 2 Sisters: Evelyn Carlene Sell-Preston of Joplin, Missouri and Connie Leota Sponsel of Girard, Kansas 9 Grandchildren and 22 Great Grandchildren with one more on the way She was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Ray Rhudy, sister Vivian Kay Tournear and a great grandchild, Elijah Alexander Gonzalez. VISITATION: 9:00-10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at the Girard Cemetery Patio in Girard, Kansas. Pastor Matt Bycroft will officiate. MEMORIAL: Daughters Of The American Revolution (D.A.R.)
