Judie posted a condolence
A teacher, a brilliant engineer, an unquenchable thirst for learning, but above all a writer. Reaching out to people and sharing his knowledge, expecting more of himself than others, excelling in everything he did. Frustrated in recent years because of the ravages of strokes he continued his quest to communicate in a multitude of avenues. Richard has been a part of my life for almost 30 years and he truly will be missed.

Judy & Cortez Williams posted a condolence
To the family of Richard: Cortez and I only knew Richard while he was here in Grandfield; never the less, in many areas he was a man to be admired. And in other areas it would take 'some thought' to understand.
Please accept our cndolances for your loss.

Richard will be missed. I didn't know him in high school and only got to know him a little in the last five years or so. I so enjoyed talking with him. A very intelligent person and very persuave with his debates of any subject. Again, I will miss him.

I never met Richard Zastrow in person, only through e-mail correspondence. Based on that, I consider him one of the most intelligent people I have ever known. I was very sorry to hear of his passing.

Ralitsa Ralcheva posted a condolence
A good friend. He knew how to find the beauty in everything and he was able to share this with others. Today, March 1, in Bulgaria we celebrate the first day of spring. It is a tradition that he loved. And now seeing the city all decorated in red and white to meet spring, gives me memories of how he used to see it with his wit, and talent, and goodness. And I think how thankful I am that I know a person like Richard. I will miss him. May he rest in peace.

He'll always have a place in my heart. A wonderful person who made difference. I also knew his mother and brother and spent wonderful time with the three of them (and learned a lot, too!).
